Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Habitat’s work. We welcome your help whether you are experienced or not! 

Volunteers are currently building a house for Michelle and her family at 1017 S. First Street, Sherman. Construction days are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, beginning at 8:00am each day until the house is complete. If you would like to join, please click Volunteer Form. Complete the three forms: the Volunteer Information sheet, the Release From Liability, and the Workplace Safety Checklist. Return the forms to graysonhabitat@gmail.com or by mail to Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 2725, Sherman, TX 75091. Call the office at 903.893.0009 for more information. 

You may also volunteer at our ReStore at 3822 N. Frisco Road, Sherman, 75090. The store is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Volunteers help sort and clean donated items, assist customers, and complete special projects. Call the store at 903.647.0133 to schedule a volunteer day. 

Do you have a few available hours? Between builds, volunteers are needed for these projects:

  • Web “reporters” to write posts for this website
  • Provide snacks or lunch for worksite volunteers
  • Attend festivals and table fairs to give information and literature

The Romance Writers of America completed the sheetrock for House #20.
Mission Possible Kids… Mission Possible kids from First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne have a heart for Habitat.
An enthusiastic group from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sherman volunteered a day on House #20.
Cobalt Capital Partners… Cobalt Capital Partners picked up the power tools to frame a backyard storage building in Van Alstyne.
Texoma Medical Center sent a crew of volunteers to get to work with masks, hammers, and nail aprons. They put up sheetrock throughout the house.
Thanks, Atmos, for sending a great crew for House #24 in Denison.
Target employees kicked off their United Way campaign with a workday on a Habitat house. They looked good hanging sheetrock and putting up soffit.
Faithful volunteers from Bucyrus spent a Saturday workday putting up sheetrock on House #21. They have also volunteered on houses #16, #17, #19, and #20. Do you see a pattern here?
Van Alstyne Cub Scouts, Pack 6 Wolf Den did their good deed for the day, installing a doorbell and cleaning floors on a Saturday afternoon.
